Over the years, we've helped our customers do some pretty cool stuff with their gear. We've had customers call us for advice on setting up surround sound for a BBQ grill, using car-based audio equipment for a solar-powered home, and even installing a full home sound system on a trailer outfitted for tailgating.

As A/V fans, we love hearing about these unusual applications. With football season gearing up, we're looking to hear more ideas from our customers on how they'd put together an A/V system that would complement the most outrageous tailgate spread. That's how we came up with our "You Dream It, We'll Help You Build It: Tailgate Dreams™" contest.

How to Enter:

Come up with a cool idea for using A/V gear that we sell on Crutchfield.com to build the ultimate tailgate system. Important: Make sure that your idea is something that you can actually do, and that it's safe and legal.

• If you don't already have one, create an account on Crutchfield.com.
• Surf the site and add your contest items to your Wish List.
• Your contest entry must total less than $2,000 (exclusive of shipping and taxes), so make sure you choose carefully and that you include everything that you'll need to make your idea a reality.
• Go to your Wish List and click on the contest link. Fill out the entry form and submit your entry.

How the Winners Will Be Chosen:

Bruce Feldman, Senior Writer for ESPN The Magazine and the author of Meat Market: Inside the Smash-Mouth World of College Football Recruiting, will pick two finalists from among all eligible entries by September 14, 2008. Bruce will choose the finalists based on the originality and inventiveness displayed by their description of the system they have entered.

The two finalists will each win the products selected in their entry, along with access to Crutchfield Product Support Specialists to help them execute their described installation.

The two finalists will then have until October 6, 2008 to assemble their systems and submit photographs, videos, and descriptions of the installation process to Crutchfield in order to be eligible for the Grand Prize – a $1,000 Crutchfield Gift Card.

Crutchfield will announce the Grand Prize Winner, as selected by Bruce Feldman, by October 19, 2008. Bruce will choose the winner based on the originality and inventiveness displayed by their assembled system.
